PAWNSHOP DRIVE

The Pawnshop Drive is an all-analog, transparent overdrive. At lower gain settings the soft-clipping mosfets are capable of subtle, articulate tones with nuance to spare. When cranked, the pedal punches through the mix and screams louder than the rest. Careful utilization of the presence knob allows the user to alter the way that the gain stages interact with the tone, allowing for staggering tonal variety. If you can imagine your perfect tone, the Pawnshop Drive can achieve it!

The Gain section:

The VOLUME knob adjusts how loud the pedal can be, going from barely audible, nominal level, to a huge boost in dB.

The DRIVE knob allows you to control the amount of gain throughout the first gain stage.

The PRESENCE knob connects the feedback stage from the second gain stage to the first, changing the entire gain structure of the pedal. This allows you to bring some of the tone section back into the first gain stage as well as changing the clipping dynamics of how the mosfets function in the circuit. When fully rotated to the right, the pedal will behave like a normal overdrive pedal. Fully rotating to the left will, in a sense, bypass the mosfets and allow for pure, unadulterated op-amp gain. 

The Tone section:

The TREBLE knob adjusts the amount of high end you will allow in the signal through a passive filter.

The BASS knob is an active filter that will boost frequencies between 100-500hz.

Each PBJ effects pedal is designed in small batches and hand-crafted in Phoenix AZ. While every pedal has the same internal circuit, each individual enclosure will feature unique artwork following the theme of the batch and no two pedals will look the exact same!
