The Ernie Ball Expression Overdrive is a foot-sweepable guitar effects pedal. It lets you dynamically control your gain and boost levels hands-free using a built-in expression treadle.
Key Features & Operation
- Foot-Sweepable Drive: With the heel all the way down, the pedal acts as a clean buffer or bypass with no added drive. As you sweep forward toward the toe-down position, it smoothly blends in the overdrive circuit up to your preset maximum.

Onboard Controls: Three rotary knobs on the side let you preset your maximum parameters before sweeping:
- Drive: Adjusts the intensity of the crunch, ranging from a subtle chime to heavy, tube-like saturation.
- Tone: Acts as a high-cut filter to roll off treble and match your amplifier.
- Boost: Adds up to an extra +6 dB of volume when the pedal is fully toe-down for punchy lead solos.
- Design: Housed in a durable aircraft aluminum shell with an attractive gold finish. It utilizes a PVC-coated Kevlar cord internally for long-term mechanical reliability.
